Online training for Educators
The Eliza initiative aims to inform and sensitize educators throughout Greece by conducting a series of online training sessions. Specifically, in 2022, webinars were held for kindergarten teachers and educators titled “The Role of the Teacher in Early Intervention for Child Abuse.” The purpose of these training sessions was to help kindergarten teachers and educators recognize the signs that lead to suspicion of abuse and understand the importance of identification. A total of 2,071 educators participated in these webinars.
Online training for School Directors
As part of the Support Points program, three online training sessions were conducted in 2021 for school directors, kindergarten supervisors, kindergarten teachers, and first and second-grade teachers, with a total of 327 participants. Training Program for Preschool Educators on Managing Cases of Child Abuse
Preschool-age children are always at the center of Eliza’s work. Recognizing the significant role of preschool educators in supporting children at risk, Eliza has developed a new National Education Program with updated scientific content tailored to the needs of children of this age group. The first Training Day for Preschool Educators on Managing Cases of Child Abuse was held on November 5, 2019, in collaboration with the Municipal Organization of Preschool Care and Mass Sports of Heraklion, Crete, for children aged 8 months to 5 years. A total of 266 preschool educators participated, mainly from public childcare centers in the Municipality of Heraklion.
Eliza extends warm thanks to Mrs. Gianna Aggelopoulou-Daskalaki (Major Sponsor) and Aegean Airlines (airline sponsor). Thanks are also expressed to the Municipal Organization of Preschool Care, as well as to the Municipality of Heraklion and the Region of Crete for their excellent cooperation and assistance in organizing the event.
